For this assignment we were to illustrate a current news article. At this point it was mid-pandemic so I choose to address the depressing phenomena of Doom Scrolling. This is where a person is constantly consuming negative news, horrific events, and toxic discourse but can't stop scrolling. With the state of the world at that point there wasn't much else to see and people could only access the outside through their phone.

I tried to capture emotion through moody and minimalistic design. Much of my inspiration came from old illustrated movie posters.
